Healthy Food Guide · ChatGPT plugin support

Customer Support

This page is help for Healthy Food Guide in ChatGPT, the plugin that lets you look up packaged foods, see how they score, and compare options without leaving your chat.

Healthy Food Guide is also a public website where we publish the same analyses. When ChatGPT shows a result, it often includes a link to that write-up on foodqualityguide.com. You do not need to browse the website to use the plugin, but the link is there if you want the full version.

Have the package in front of you? Snap or upload a photo of the barcode in ChatGPT and skip typing the numbers. You can also search by product name, brand, or category, rank options in a group, or compare two products side-by-side.

What you get in ChatGPT

The plugin is built for quick answers and deeper detail when you want it. Browse a list of matches when you are exploring, then open the full analysis for any product that interests you.

How to use the plugin

  1. Turn on the Healthy Food Guide plugin in ChatGPT.
  2. Scan a barcode, the fastest option. Photograph or upload the product’s UPC barcode in chat and ask Healthy Food Guide to look it up. ChatGPT reads the number and pulls the dual-score analysis card with ingredients, nutrition, and Longevity and Food Integrity detail.
  3. Look up a product by name or number. Type a UPC or simply ask whether a named food is a strong choice. Open the analysis card to see the scores, ingredients, strengths, concerns, and tradeoffs.
  4. Explore a category. Ask for the healthiest breads, snacks, frozen foods, or other product groups. Browse the results to narrow things down, then request the full analysis for any item that interests you.
  5. Ask by brand, or by a mapped store. Naming Trader Joe’s, Walmart, or Costco ranks that store’s own brands in our catalog, not everything on the shelf. For other stores, name the brand.
  6. Compare options. Name two products or UPCs to see a side-by-side Longevity and Food Integrity view and quickly understand where each one stands.

Which products are included?

The plugin can look up products we have already analyzed. We are steadily adding more, but not every item in the grocery store is available yet. Store names only cover that retailer's own brands we have mapped. If ChatGPT cannot find something today, try the brand name or try again later.

Understanding the scores

Each analyzed product gets two scores:

These reflect typical eating patterns and label quality, not your personal medical history, diet plan, or priorities.

A high Longevity Score might still come with sugar, sodium, saturated fat, or other tradeoffs. A lower score can sometimes reflect one factor among many rather than making a product simply good or bad. The What helped and What held back sections in each analysis explain that balance so you can see what is driving the result.

If a score feels surprising, it is often because the analysis reflects a general view for typical use. Keto, blood sugar management, heart health, weight goals, and other priorities can change which parts of the same nutrition label matter most to you. Learn why we use two scores.

About KarbCoach (optional)

Healthy Food Guide is published by KarbCoach. KarbCoach is also a mobile app, separate from the ChatGPT plugin. You do not need the app to use the plugin.

If you like the analyses in ChatGPT and want more, KarbCoach adds health-goal personalization on the same scores, plus in-store barcode scanning, restaurant checks, meal analysis, and a larger library of analyzed products.

When you are ready, download the KarbCoach mobile app and set up your health goals in the app.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use Healthy Food Guide in ChatGPT?

Turn on the Healthy Food Guide plugin in ChatGPT, then ask in plain language. You can type a product name, brand, category, or UPC barcode number, or upload a photo of the barcode on the package. You can also ask broader questions, such as which breads score highest, or ask ChatGPT to compare two products you name.

What do I see when I look up a product?

For products we have analyzed, ChatGPT can show a Longevity Score, a Food Integrity Score, a short summary, nutrition facts, ingredients, what helped each score, what held it back, and more detail if you expand the analysis. Depending on your question, you may see one product, a browsable list of matches, or a side-by-side comparison.

Why might a score surprise me?

The scores reflect typical everyday use and label quality, not your personal medical situation or diet plan. A product can score well overall while still having added sugar, sodium, saturated fat, processing, or other tradeoffs. Open the score details in ChatGPT to see what drove the result. If you care most about blood sugar, heart health, keto, weight goals, or something else, different parts of the label may matter more to you than to the general score.

What is KarbCoach?

KarbCoach is a mobile app from the same team that makes Healthy Food Guide. The ChatGPT plugin and the Healthy Food Guide website focus on packaged-food analysis. KarbCoach adds health-goal personalization on top of the same scores, plus barcode scanning in stores, restaurant checks, meal analysis, and a larger library of analyzed products. It is optional. You can download it from karbcoach.com if you want to go further after using the plugin.

Why is a product missing when I search in ChatGPT?

The plugin only includes products we have already analyzed and published. We add more over time, but not every grocery item is available yet. If you named a store we do not map to a house brand, try the brand name instead. If ChatGPT cannot find a product, try again later as we publish new ones.

Can I ask for foods from a grocery store like Costco or Walmart?

The plugin does not know what a store has in stock. Naming Trader Joe’s, Walmart, or Costco ranks that store’s own brands in our catalog (Trader Joe’s, Great Value, and Kirkland). For other stores, or for a national brand, name the brand.

Is Healthy Food Guide medical advice?

No. Healthy Food Guide is meant to help you understand and compare packaged foods. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional. Always check the package in your hand for current ingredients, allergens, and nutrition information.

What if a score, ingredient, or nutrition fact looks wrong?

When ChatGPT shows a product analysis, look for a link to Healthy Food Guide on the web. That opens the full write-up for the same product on foodqualityguide.com. Compare what you see there with what ChatGPT showed. If your package label looks different from both, the product may have been reformulated since we last reviewed it. If the website looks correct but ChatGPT still looks wrong, email contact@diamondstartech.com with Healthy Food Guide Support in the subject line, the product name or UPC, and a short note about what looks incorrect.
